This is how you do it
Once to thrice a week, apply an even layer on cleansed, dry skin, avoiding the immediate eye area and lips. Leave on for 5–15 minutes (start with 5, progress to 15 once your skin is familiar with the product).
Some feel a tingling sensation, some don’t – the effect is radical either way. Gently remove the mask with a damp cotton pad (dump it in the bin, not the drain, please). Cleanse and move on to Defend My Glory Firming Face Cream for a burst of moisture.
Needless to say, SPF is mandatory.

Why does my face tingle while using a face mask – and is it still working if I don’t feel any tingle?
Products formulated with AHA acids will sometimes make the skin tingle. This is due to the acids penetrating the skin and is not dangerous in any way. (Also, it is not a sign the product works better. It works either way.)
The smaller the molecules, the more likely you are to feel a tingle in the skin. However, not everyone feels it. Some are simply more tolerant to AHA acids than others.
People with a sensitive skin type are more likely to experience a reaction to products with AHA acids than people with a normal skin type. But if your skin is ‘weakened’, as it can be in winter, when it’s cold and the skin is often dry, even normal skin types may react to the acids.
Clean My Slate Resufacing Peeling Mask is formulated with gentler acids (PHA and lactic acid, the second-smallest AHA molecule). This means most skin types, even the more sensitive ones, can use it.
Is chemical exfoliation better than physical (and what’s the difference btw)?
Chemical peels are generally gentler on the skin than physical peels – and because they do all the work for you, they’re more fit for those who enjoy the fine art of doing nothing.
Because you don’t manually remove skin when you use chemical exfoliants, there’s less risk of irritating your skin. But you still need to pay attention and listen to your skin! If your skin suddenly becomes more red than usual, take a break. Don’t overdo it.
How can this peeling favourite be vegan when it contains lactic acid?
The simple answer: because lactic acid is produced by a natural bacterial fermentation process of sugar (it comes from sugar beet).
